Richard V.W. Adams, III
Richard V. W. Adams, III has been associated with the firm since 1978. He became a principal in 1983. Mr. Adams focuses his practice on general business representation and commercial litigation.
Mr. Adams has many small and mid-sized business clients. He strives to fully understand their particular needs and provide them with personalized counsel on the various legal issues that they confront on a regular basis. When the need for litigation arises, he can draw upon his 30 years of experience in Virginia state and federal courts. He has been named by Super Lawyers Magazine as one of the top business litigation attorneys in the Washington, D.C. area. Mr. Adams’ practice areas also include construction, employment and alternative dispute resolution.
Mr. Adams received his bachelor of arts degree cum laude from Wake Forest University and his juris doctor decree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law of the College of William and Mary. He has been an arbitrator for Fairfax County’s Department of Consumer Affairs for more than 25 years. Mr. Adams represents many automotive dealerships and automotive management companies and has lectured automotive dealers and dealers’ attorneys for the Virginia State Bar’s Continuing Legal Education program. He is a member of the Board of the National Association of Dealer Counsel. He has served on the faculty of the Virginia State Bar’s Course on Professionalism, which is a mandatory ethics course for admittees to the Virginia Bar. He has chaired several committees of the Fairfax Bar Association, is a former president of the McLean Bar Association and has served as president of the William and Mary Law School Association. |
