Evan M. Stepanick joined the firm as an associate in 2010 and became a principal in 2016. He regularly handles cases in the district and circuit courts of both Virginia and Maryland, and also practices in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. In his free time, Mr. Stepanick serves as coordinator of the Northern Virginia Model Judiciary Program – a volunteer program which introduces high school students to the state’s judicial system by teaching them the basics of litigation, and having students participate in mock trials and appellate arguments.

Areas of Concentration

Mr. Stepanick focuses his practice on civil litigation, and is involved with the firm’s eminent domain, as well as business litigation, practice areas. He also represents individuals and companies in a variety of matters, including business formation, commercial and employment matters, and lease negotiations, formation, and disputes. Mr. Stepanick also litigates in the general district courts on both civil and traffic matters.

Background and Accomplishments

Mr. Stepanick graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2007 with a B.S. in Business Administration. He received his J.D. in 2010 from the William & Mary School of Law. During law school, Mr. Stepanick was a Notes Editor of the William & Mary Environmental Law & Policy Review, was appointed a representative of the Student Bar Association, and served as a Student Admissions Ambassador.
